Linoleum — Materials and care guide
Find information about the material and a guide on how to maintain Montana’s linoleum products. Read more here.
Linoleum is a natural material made from linseed oil, pine resin, cork, and wood flour. The natural material has a matt look and a soft touch. The material is also bacteria repellent because of the oxidation and is sound absorbing as well. Linoleum is constructed from 3 layers; impregnated felt paper, linoleum granules, and lacquer – together they form a solid surface that is hardwearing, durable, and easy to maintain.
Care and maintenance
Like most natural materials, lonoleum requires care and maintenance, and the color nuance and look may vary even if two tabletops have the same color code. The linoleum surface is susceptible to stains. In case of spillage we recommend wiping the surface immediately.
Daily cleaning of tables with a linoleum surface can be done with a clean cloth wrung in lukewarm water. Do not use washing-up liquid or regular detergents, as these will leave the linoleum dried up. We recommend using linoleum care products 3-4 times a year as needed. Customers outside DK must search for Forbo linoleum and through that find a dealer who sells linoleum care. Customers in DK can buy linoleum care on Riisfort's website.
