Kevi x Mads Nørgaard
The Mads Nørgaard version of Kevi was first launched in 2016 by two Danish design brands – the furniture company Engelbrechts and fashion brand Mads Nørgaard. It was an obvious design collaboration, as the Kevi chair has long been part of Mads Nørgaard's office interior.
The summer 2021, Montana Furniture acquired the furniture company Engelbrechts and therefore we are now pleased to gradually introduce Kevi chairs with the iconic Nørgaard stripes in the Montana range.
Jørgen Rasmussen and the Kevi castor
In 1965, Jørgen Rasmussen developed the double wheel castor. This innovation enhanced the Kevi chair’s flexibility and reduces floor wear. Rasmussen was an advocate for user-driven design and added flexibility to the chair’s backrest to support the lower back and spine and a height-adjustable feature. The Kevi chair’s technical design sparked an ergonomic revolution in workplaces, schools and home offices.
Today, this Danish invention is integrated into numerous industrial designs, benefiting millions around the world. The Kevi castor is included in Danish Ministry of Culture’s “Cultural collections” due to its “positive impact on millions of people all over the world.”
