The character of wood
TAKT by Montana is a collection of furniture within the Montana Furniture universe. Solid wood is at the heart of many pieces in the collection. The collection has its roots in a Danish design company with a clear aim: to make high-quality design available to more people, and to be open about how every piece is made.
That thinking still shapes TAKT by Montana today, along with its work with designers such as Pearson Lloyd and Lysemose & de Gier.
Colour, meet material
At Montana, colour is a design tool. But few of us live with colour alone. Our homes are also made of wood, stone, textiles and other surfaces we want to touch. TAKT by Montana adds that tactile layer.
Solid wood and veneer bring warmth to a room through grain and texture rather than colour, and they sit naturally alongside it. Gather wooden chairs around a dining table in a bold colour, or let the wood set the tone on its own.
Where Montana is built on modularity and colour, TAKT is built on material and construction. Both start from the same belief: furniture should be made to be kept.
Open by design
Good design goes deeper than the surface. It is also about what a piece is made of, how it is made, and how long it is made to last. TAKT by Montana is open about the materials and methods behind every piece, so you know what you are bringing into your home. The approach draws on a Scandinavian ideal: good design should be for everybody. The collection combines the best of Danish design heritage with today’s production technology, so craft is present at every stage of making.
Made to come apart
Every piece in TAKT by Montana is designed to be taken apart. Parts that wear over time can be replaced. At the end of the furniture’s life, its materials can be separated and recycled. It is a simple principle with a long reach: furniture you can repair and keep rather than replace.
The idea behind TAKT
Henrik Lorensen founded TAKT in Denmark in 2017. He built a brand around a habit of working with celebrated designers. His starting point was that well-made furniture should not be reserved for the few. That idea still runs through every piece in the collection.
